Introduction to the Electronic Educational Faculty
Performance Report Unit
The quantitative and qualitative evaluation of
the educational activities of faculty members is a crucial factor in enhancing
the quality of education at universities and is among the most essential
processes for monitoring and improving medical universities. In this regard,
the role of faculty members is significant due to their direct impact on the
educational process. To enhance educational processes at the university, it is
necessary to develop indicators for educational activities in the form of an
educational Faculty Performance Report and to calculate scores within this Faculty
Performance Report for evaluating faculty members’ educational performance.
This evaluation is vital for promotions and selecting exemplary professors.
The electronic Faculty Performance Report was
designed as an educational evaluation criterion for promotions and selecting
exemplary professors in the Basic Sciences and Dentistry departments of this
university. Initially, it was implemented manually and non-electronically for
approximately one year. During this period, the quality and quantity of
educational activities significantly increased.
Subsequently, in September 2016, the Faculty
Performance Report was digitized with substantial quantitative and qualitative
improvements compared to the previous version. It was made available to faculty
members through the university’s website, the Education Vice-Chancellor’s
portal, and the Studies Center. In 2018, a research-oriented version of the Faculty
Performance Report was designed and uploaded to the system. These Faculty
Performance Reports undergo annual revisions.
The Faculty Performance Reports are also used
to complete quality-of-education forms for academic promotions and performance
reports for full-time geographical assignments. It is hoped that continuous
upgrades to these Faculty Performance Reports will further enhance the quality
and quantity of education, contributing to the university’s prestige.
